DOTD Announces Start of $2.5M lighting project on I-49 in St. Landry Parish

St. Landry Parish, LA — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, November 2, 2026, construction will begin on a $2.5 million lighting project that will include a .945-mile section of I-49 at the US 190 interchange.
The project will include drilled shaft foundation, lighting and related work.
The work is estimated to take place Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting.
The project is estimated for completion in Winter 2028.
