PROJECT UPDATE: LA 525 (Colquitt Rd) overlay project, Caddo Parish
CADDO PARISH, La. – Roadway improvements continue to take shape on LA 525 (Colquitt Road) in south Caddo Parish, and as part of that progress, the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development announces intermittent lane closures on the north end of the project.
Beginning Thursday, October 29, 2026, there will be intermittent outside lane closures on LA 525 between Walker Road and Mansfield Road to allow the contractor to begin making repairs in the concrete section. The repairs in the concrete portion of the project are anticipated to last approximately two (2) weeks, weather permitting.
This comes after the first layer of asphalt was completed on the remaining 9 miles of the $9.2 million project, which stretches down to the intersection of LA 169 (Spring Ridge). A second layer of asphalt will be added in the coming days, along with future guardrail repair and new roadway striping & signage.
Motorists should be aware that construction activities are taking place in this location, as well as others along the project length, and are urged to drive with extreme caution through the work zone.
The entire project is expected to wrap up in Spring 2027, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Alternate Route: No detour necessary for this work.
