Benefits to Motorists and Local Businesses Ambassador Caffery Parkway serves as an important transportation corridor in Lafayette, providing access for commuters, residents, commercial vehicles and customers traveling to nearby businesses.
The roadway improvements will help maintain the corridor's long-term condition while providing motorists with a smoother driving surface and improved pavement markings. Curb, gutter and guardrail work will also contribute to the overall functionality and safety of the roadway infrastructure.
For local businesses, maintaining a reliable transportation corridor is important for customer access, employee commutes, deliveries and day-to-day operations. Although temporary lane closures may cause delays during construction, performing most of the work overnight is intended to minimize disruptions during daytime travel periods.
Motorist Safety DOTD reminds motorists to slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic-control signs, and remain alert for construction crews and equipment. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone, particularly during nighttime hours.
DOTD appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.
