ACADIA PARISH, La. — Motorists traveling on Chinaberry Drive will benefit from a new bridge designed to provide a more reliable roadway connection as construction kicked-off on Monday, October 12, 2026 on a $780,000 bridge replacement project.

The project will replace the existing bridge and include roadway, drainage and other improvements to support the long-term function of the route.

PROJECT LIMITS

SCOPE OF WORK
Work will include removing the existing bridge, earthwork, grading, drainage structure installation, Class II base placement, precast concrete pile installation and construction of a new concrete slab-span bridge, along with related improvements.

Once complete, the replacement bridge is expected to provide a more reliable roadway crossing for motorists traveling in the area.

Construction is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The project is estimated to be complete in spring 2027.
