The Louisiana Department and Transportation and Development (LADOTD) is accepting additional input on the proposed US 90: Lafitte Avenue to France Road project located in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana through November 6, 2026.
The proposed project includes roadway improvements along US Highway 90 (North Broad Street/Gentilly Boulevard/Chef Menteur Highway) from its intersection with Lafitte Avenue to its intersection with France Road. The scope of work is pavement resurfacing to extend pavement service life and improve ride quality, in addition to spot pedestrian and traffic management improvements. Pedestrian improvements include adding pedestrian signals at signalized intersections and installing ADA compliant handicapped ramps. Traffic Management improvements include modifying median openings and installing left turn lanes between St. Bernard Avenue and George Nick Connor Drive, minor modifications to raised islands at spot locations and modifying the median width from New Orleans Street/Allen Street couplet to Peoples Avenue. Additional right-of-way will not be required for this project. No business or residential relocations are anticipated.
