LA 589 in West Carroll Parish, Road Closure; SP H.014239

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that LA 589 in Forest, Louisiana will be closed to all through traffic from Monday, October 12, 2026 through Friday, April 30, 2027. The LA 589 road closure will be located from the intersection of LA 589 and Nicholson Drive to the intersection of LA 589 and Skinner Lane. The road closure is required to remove and replace the existing bridge over Alligator Bayou. Construction is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2027, weather permitting.
Permit/Detour Section
Restriction: LA 589 will be closed to all through traffic from the intersection of LA 589 and Nicholson Drive to the intersection of LA 589 and Skinner Lane.
Detour: A detour route will be signed and provided for the duration of the closure. All vehicle traffic must detour using LA 17 and LA 2.
