UPDATE - LA 82 Perry Bridge to Close for Rehabilitation Work

UPDATE: The LA 82 Perry Bridge rehabiliation project is now scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

VERMILION PARISH, LA - DOTD advises the public that the LA 82 Perry Bridge will close to all vehicular traffic beginning Monday, October 12, 2026, through May 31, 2027, weather permitting, to allow crews to rehabilitate the bridge.
The rehabilitation work is necessary to address the bridge’s current condition and extend its service life, improve its overall condition and provide a safer, more reliable crossing for motorists.
The temporary closure will allow crews to perform the work more efficiently and safely while minimizing risks to motorists and workers in the construction area.
Detour Information
During the closure, motorists should follow the posted detour route:
LA 3267 to LA 14 to US 167 to LA 335 to LA 694
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the bridge during the closure and should seek alternate routes.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and follow all posted detour signs. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the construction area and remain alert for work crews and equipment.
Once complete, the rehabilitation work will help preserve the Perry Bridge for continued use and provide motorists with a more reliable transportation connection.
