DOTD announces a $2.03 million project to improve US 171 from West Drive in Deridder to the Vernon Parish Line – Beauregard Parish

Beauregard Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced work on a $2.03 million project to improve US 171 from West Drive to the Vernon Parish Line is set to begin Monday, October 19, 2026.
Improvements include concrete rehabilitation, repairs to curbs and drains, and asphalt overlay. Motorists can expect lane closures throughout the duration of the project. There will be a 12-foot width restriction throughout the duration of the project.
Apeck Construction, LLC is the contractor for the project. Work is expected to be complete by the fall of 2027, weather permitting.
