Statewide truck permit experiencing intermittent disruptions due to server outage

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is advising commercial carriers and the trucking industry of intermittent service disruptions affecting the LAGeaux Truck Permitting software due to a statewide server outage.

DOTD is temporarily unable to issue and receive payment of oversize/overweight permits as a result of the outage. With respect to CMV vehicles that require an oversize/overweight permit to operate on state-maintained highways, this notice shall serve as a temporary special permit for a vehicle meeting either of the following criteria:

1) A vehicle hauling a nondivisible load with a total gross weight not exceeding one hundred twenty thousand (120,000) pounds, and dimensions not exceeding fourteen feet four inches (14'-4") in height, twelve feet (12'-0") in width, and ninety feet (90'-0") in length.

2) A vehicle that is unable to process payment but is eligible for and would otherwise be required to obtain, an annual, semi-annual, or monthly oversize/overweight permit, operating within the size and weight limits and eligible highway routes of the respective permit type.

DOTD recognizes the importance of timely permits and is working closely with the Office of Technology Services (OTS) to restore normal operations as soon as possible.

DOTD will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
