PROJECT UPDATE: LA 528 bridge replacement over Clarke Bayou, Bossier Parish BOSSIER PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces significant progress on the project to replace the LA 528 bridge over Clarke Bayou in eastern Bossier Parish.
The original bridge – built in 1976 – has been fully removed, and the new structure has been constructed and is officially in place.
The contractor is currently working on building the roadway approaches that tie in to the bridge, installing erosion control, guardrail, and will be installing permanent roadway striping and signage once the roadway is complete.
The project, which began in December 2025, remains on track to wrap up in late October 2026, weather and other factors permitting.
This bridge replacement project signifies another step in the process of modernizing the state’s infrastructure system, and ensuring ongoing connectivity for the communities that depend on these routes.
