PROJECT UPDATE: LA 525 (Colquitt Road) asphalt overlay in Caddo Parish CADDO PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that construction continues to progress on the $9.2 million project to improve a section of LA 525 (Colquitt Road) near Keithville in south Caddo Parish.
Work on the project began in mid-August 2026, with the contractor currently working on several activities, including applying the first layer of asphalt on sections of the project, which stretches from US 171 (Mansfield Rd) to LA 169 (Spring Ridge). Other activities include guardrail replacement, and ongoing full-depth base repairs to strengthen the roadway.
Upcoming operations include a cross drain pipe replacement, the final layer of asphalt paving, new permanent roadway striping and markings, and related items.
Motorists are urged to plan for possible delays, particularly during peak travel times in the mornings and evenings, while DOTD continues to monitor the traffic flow during intermittent lane closures and make necessary adjustments. Please drive with extreme caution through the construction zone.
The entire project is anticipated to wrap up in late Spring 2027, weather and other factors permitting.
This investment in Louisiana’s transportation system will provide a much-improved, safer route for drivers in south Caddo Parish and beyond.
This project was made possible via funding allocated from the Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund (LTIF 2.0) during the 2025 Regular Legislative Session.
