Lafayette Parish - Interstate 49 - Alternating Lane Closures

LAFAYETTE/ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA - Motorists are advised of the next round of alternating lane closures as part of the $43 million resurfacing project.
This work is scheduled to take place beginning Monday, September 14, through Sunday, September 20.
These closures are necessary to complete paving operations and will take place during overnight and weekend hours to minimize traffic disruptions.
Northbound I-49 – Paving Operations
Alternating lane closures will occur on the I-49 northbound mainline during the following dates and times:
From Exit 4 to the St. Landry Parish Line
- Monday, September 14: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, September 15: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, September 16: 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Thursday, September 17: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Southbound I-49 – Paving Operations
Alternating lane closures will occur on the I-49 southbound mainline during the following dates and times:
From St. Landry Parish Line to Exit 4
- Saturday, September 19: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- Sunday, September 20: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
Motorists should expect delays, exercise caution in work zones, and consider alternate routes when possible. Crews will work to complete operations as efficiently and safely as possible.
For the safety of workers and drivers, please reduce speed and remain alert when traveling through construction areas.
