LANE CLOSURES: LA 617 (Thomas Road) from LA 34 (Jonesboro Road) to US 80 (Cypress Street)

Update 9/14/2026: Work on the project is now scheduled to begin on Monday, September 28, 2026. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ OUACHITA PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the start of a project to patch and repair the concrete pavement along LA 617 (Thomas Road) from LA 34 (Jonesboro Road) to US 80 (Cypress Street).
Work on the project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2025, weather permitting.
Beginning September 15th , intermittent lane closures will be necessary to allow construction operations to progress safety and efficiently.
Lane closure and work hour restrictions shall be as follows:
NB and SB North of Downing Pines No lane closures allowed: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 8:30pm Saturday 9:30am – 6:30pm Sunday 11:30am – 6:00pm
NB South of Downing Pines No lane closures allowed: Monday-Friday 6:30am - 7:00pm Saturday 9:30am – 6:30pm Sunday 11:30am – 4:00pm
SB South of Downing Pines No lane closures allowed: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 8:00pm Saturday 9:30am – 6:30pm Sunday 11:30am – 6:00pm
Drivers should anticipate some delays, particularly during peak travel times.
The entire project is anticipated to wrap up late 2027, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Safety reminder: DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
