The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Sunday, September 13th, at 7:00 PM, weather permitting, there will be nightly alternating lane closures from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM at the following intersections (One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.):

US 71 (MacArthur Dr.) at Elliot St.
US 71 (MacArthur Dr.) at US 167-B (Lee St.)
US 167-B at Broadway Ave.
LA 28 at Pinehurst Dr. and Bradley Ave.
LA 28 at Stilley and Old Holloway
LA 28 at Highland Dr.
US 165 at US 167 SB
Broadway Ave. and Dallas Ave.
US 165 at LA 623 (Paradise Rd.)
US 165 at LA 1204 (Ball Cuttoff Rd.)
US 165 at Castor Plunge


These closures are necessary to allow for signal turn-ons and related work.

All work is anticipated to be completed at these intersections by September 18th, 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.

The contract was awarded to Jack B. Harper Electrical, LLC in the amount of $9,040,462.73

Permit/Detour section
There are no detour’s or lane width restrictions associated with this project.

All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
