The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Wednesday, September 9th, at 7:00 AM, weather permitting, there will be daytime alternating lane closures on I-49 north bound.
These closures are necessary to allow for patching, milling of asphalt pavement, and paving of asphalt concrete on I-49.
All work is anticipated to be completed by the end of May 2027, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
The contract was awarded to Diamond B. Construction, LLC in the amount of $15,234,203.74.
Permit/Detour section
There are currently no detour’s or lane width restrictions associated with this project.

All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
