LAFOURCHE PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that repairs to the LA 308 bridge at Scully Canal in Lafourche Parish have been completed and the bridge is scheduled to reopen Thursday.

Crews are removing equipment and barricades, with the bridge expected to open to traffic at approximately 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 3.

Constructed in 1954, the Scully Canal Bridge is one of several aging structures along the LA 308 corridor that DOTD is working to repair and replace. A long-term replacement of the Scully Canal Bridge is part of an upcoming bridge replacement project along LA 308 in Lafourche Parish.

DOTD appreciates the public’s patience during the closure and will provide additional information about the upcoming bridge replacement project as construction approaches.
