SLIDELL, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will begin roadway resurfacing and elevation improvements Wednesday, Sept. 2, on a short section of LA 433/Bayou Liberty Road near the Bayou Liberty Bridge in St. Tammany Parish.

The $250,000 project will extend one-quarter mile from the Slidell side of the Bayou Liberty Bridge to the area near Rivet Drive. Crews will add asphalt to raise and resurface the roadway in this section. The project also includes new pavement striping and reflective markers.

Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures and possible delays while work is underway. At least one lane will remain open to traffic at all times, and traffic control will be in place throughout the work zone. Work operations may be adjusted if traffic backups become excessive.

Construction is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept. 2, and is expected to be completed later this fall, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone and to watch for crews and traffic-control devices.
