Friday, August 28, 2026 at 8:33:51 AM
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the westbound side of the US 190 Old Mississippi River Bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, August 28, through 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 1.

The closure is necessary to fully replace a failing finger joint located at the east end of the bridge. As part of the closure, the I-110 southbound ramp connecting LA 408 (Harding Boulevard) to US 190 westbound will also be closed.

Westbound motorists will be detoured to I-110 southbound, I-10 westbound, and LA 415 northbound. Drivers should allow additional travel time.

The safety of the traveling public is DOTD’s top priority. DOTD continually monitors the condition of its bridges and would immediately close any structure determined to be unsafe for travel.
