What: PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE When: Thursday, September 17, 2026, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Where: Langston Hughes Academy (Library), 3519 Trafalgar Street, New Orleans, LA 70119
The Louisiana Department and Transportation and Development (LADOTD), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is conducting an open house public meeting for the proposed US 90: Lafitte Avenue to France Road project located in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
The proposed project includes roadway improvements along US Highway 90 (North Broad Street/Gentilly Boulevard/Chef Menteur Highway) from its intersection with Lafitte Avenue to its intersection with France Road. The overall scope of work is pavement resurfacing, with spot pedestrian and turn lane improvements. The project will include the closure and modification of median openings between St. Bernard Avenue and George Nick Connor Drive to construct turn lanes and improve access management. Additional right-of-way will not be required for this project. No business or residential relocations are anticipated.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public of the proposed project and to provide an opportunity for the public to comment. Map displays, a continuous multi-media presentation, and a comment submission box will be made available. The open house public meeting is being held at Langston Hughes Academy (Library), 3519 Trafalgar St, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Thursday September 17, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
