EXTENDED: LA 92-1 (Smede Highway) 0.75 miles west of LA 31, St. Martin Parish, Road Closure

UPDATE: This road closure is being extended to Friday, September 25 at 7:00 a.m., weather permitting.
LA 92-1 (Smede Highway) approximately 0.75 miles west of its intersection with LA 31 will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Monday, August 24 at 7:00 a.m. until Monday, September 14 at 7:00 a.m., weather permitting.
This closure is necessary to install new drainage structures across the roadway.
The detour routes will be posted and are as follows:
The detour route for westbound traffic will be LA 31 (South Main Street) north to LA 96 (Terrace Highway), continue west on LA 96 (Terrace Highway), then take LA 182 (Old Spanish Trail Highway) south towards LA 92-1 (Smede Highway).
The detour route for eastbound traffic will be LA 182 (Old Spanish Trail Highway), north to LA 96 (Terrace Highway), continue east on LA 96 (Terrace Highway), then take LA 31 (South Main Street) south towards LA 92-1 (Smede Highway).
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area and should seek an alternate route.
