PROJECT UPDATE: LA 9 overlay in Bienville & Claiborne Parishes
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an update on the ongoing $11.3 million project to repair a 7.5 mile section of LA 9 in Bienville and Claiborne Parishes.
All asphalt paving on the project, which stretches from I-20 to LA 518, is now officially complete. Additionally, the contractor has finished installation of guardrail at the bridges along the project limits.
Upcoming construction activities include the installation of permanent roadway striping and other smaller tasks. Motorists should expect possible intermittent lane/shoulder closures or slow-moving operations for roadway striping.
The overall project is anticipated to be complete in September 2026, weather and other factors permitting.
LA 9 is an important connector route that provides access to numerous communities across several north and central Louisiana parishes. This project is a critical investment in continuing to improve and modernize the state’s transportation system.
