US 165: Intersection Improvements
Routes LA 1254 (Maryhill Road), US 165, & LA 116
Rapides Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Tuesday, August 18th, at 6:00 PM, weather permitting, there will be nightly alternating lane closures on US 165 northbound in Kingsville near the northbound US 167 off-ramp (Near Lowes). The northbound US 167 off-ramp to US 165 will remain open during construction; however, motorists should expect alternating lane closures while work is performed on the ramp. These lane closures will generally be in effect nightly from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday night through Friday morning until the end of September.

These closures are necessary to allow crews to perform concrete pavement rehabilitation and related roadway improvements.
All work related to the concrete rehabilitation is anticipated to be completed by the end of September. All work is weather dependent and subject to change based on site conditions and other factors that may impact construction schedules.

The contract was awarded to Progressive Construction Co., LLC in the amount of $1,166,390.00.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling through the work zone, observe all traffic control devices, and allow additional travel time as delays may occur.

Permit/Detour section
There is a 12’ wide width restriction associated with these lane closures.

There are no detour’s associated with this project.

Safety Reminder
All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
