PROJECT UPDATE: LA 117 overlay project, Natchitoches Parish
NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an update for the ongoing $9.9 million project to repair a 9.5 mile section of LA 117 in Natchitoches Parish.
Asphalt paving operations on the travel lanes are officially complete. Upcoming construction activities include paving the driveway connections, turnouts and shoulders, along with the installation of guardrail, permanent roadway striping & signage, and other smaller tasks.
Full-depth base repairs at various locations to strengthen and extend the service life of the roadway were previously completed.
Motorists should still expect alternating or intermittent lane closures as needed along the project, which stretches from Bellwood to LA 120 in Provencal. Please drive with extreme caution through the construction zone, remaining alert for crews and equipment on site.
The overall project continues to make significant progress, and is anticipated to wrap up in Fall 2026 (October), weather and other factors permitting.
