DOTD Announces $1.43 Million LA 92-1 Improvement Project in St. Martin Parish

ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the start of a $1.43 million roadway improvement project on LA 92-1 from LA 31 to LA 347 in St. Martin Parish.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, August 17, 2026, with the project anticipated to be completed in October 2026, weather permitting.
The project will include milling, base rehabilitation, asphalt overlay and related roadway improvements designed to improve the condition and long-term performance of the route.
The improvements will provide several benefits to motorists who regularly travel LA 92-1, including:
- A smoother driving surface through roadway rehabilitation and new asphalt.
- Better long-term ride quality for motorists and commercial vehicles.
- Improved reliability of the roadway by extending the service life of the pavement.
Construction activities are expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures will be required while crews perform the work. Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to allow additional travel time through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access through the construction area.
DOTD urges motorists to slow down, pay attention and use caution when traveling through the work zone. Drivers should remain alert for construction crews, equipment and changing traffic conditions.
