PROJECT UPDATE: US 171 (Hearne Ave) overlay project, Caddo Parish
SHREVEPORT, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a milestone in the ongoing $9.6 million project to repair a section of US 171 (Hearne Avenue) in Shreveport.
All asphalt paving operations are now complete, providing a smooth, new driving surface for the thousands of motorists who utilize the corridor each day.
The project stretches on Hearne Ave. from LA 3132 to US 80 (Greenwood Road), delivering 4.6 miles of roadway improvements.
Upcoming work includes installation of permanent striping (temporary striping is currently in place), guardrail, signage, and other smaller construction tasks. Motorists should be prepared for intermittent lane closures as necessary in order to progress with completing the remainder of the work.
Please drive with caution through the construction zone, as crews and equipment remain on site.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in late Summer 2026, weather and other factors permitting.
