UPDATE - RAMP CLOSURES: I-20 at Simsboro/Industry Exits, Lincoln Parish


(UPDATE 8/18/2026): DOTD advises motorists that these intermittent ramp closures along I-20 eastbound and westbound at both the Simsboro and Industry exits in Lincoln Parish have been extended to take place through Thursday, August 20, 2026.

The ramp closures are scheduled to take place in approximately 5-6 hour intervals, weather permitting.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to the digital message boards that will be placed ahead of these interchanges alerting drivers of which ramps are closed.

This work is related to the ongoing project to overlay I-20 from the Bienville Parish line to Grambling. DOTD appreciates the patience of the traveling public while these improvements are underway.

Original notification - 8/10/2026:

LINCOLN PARISH, La.
- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the following temporary ramp closures have been scheduled as part of the ongoing $18 million project to overlay a section of I-20 through Lincoln Parish:

  • August 13 & 14, 2026: I-20 eastbound on and off-ramps at Simsboro (Exit 77) and Industry (Exit 78).
  • August 17 & 18, 2026: I-20 westbound on and off-ramps at Simsboro (Exit 77) and Industry (Exit 78).

The ramps will only be closed while work is taking place, and only one set of interchange ramps will be closed at a time.

The ramp closures are scheduled to take place in approximately 5-6 hour intervals, weather permitting.

The purpose of these ramp closures is to allow the contractor to mill and overlay the pavement, associated with the ongoing construction project to repair the I-20 corridor through this section of Lincoln Parish.

Motorists are urged to pay close attention to the digital message boards that will be placed ahead of these interchanges alerting drivers of which ramps are closed.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
