Lane modification: LA 378 (Sampson Street) in Westlake – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that LA 378 (Sampson St.) in Westlake from the I-10 South Service Road to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks will be modified to have a single northbound and southbound travel lane, beginning 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 08, 2026 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2026.

Signs and markings will be in place to direct traffic. The lane adjustment is necessary to perform work associated with the relocation of the Phillips 66 Pipe Rack project. All work is weather dependent.

  • Horseshoe Boulevard from LA 378 to Mike Hooks Road remains closed through 7 p.m. Aug. 26, 2026. Motorists can detour using LA 378 (Sampson St.) to LA 379 (Sulphur Ave.) to Miller Ave.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
