DOTD announces project to repair a section of LA 107 in Avoyelles Parish AVOYELLES PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a $5.3 million project to improve and repair a portion of LA 107 in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 10, 2026, and stretches from Mark Street in Marksville to the Red River bridge (over 7 miles of repairs).
The project includes full-depth base repairs, milling to remove the old asphalt, new asphalt paving, new roadway striping, signage, and related work.
Motorists should anticipate intermittent lane closures on LA 107 to allow construction activities to proceed safely and efficiently. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to advance warning signage, lowered speed limits, and crews & equipment on site.
All work on the project is anticipated to be complete in late Fall 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
LA 107 provides connectivity to several communities in Avoyelles Parish, over the Red River, and to points beyond. Investing in repairing this route is critical to the continued improvement of the state’s overall transportation system.
The project was awarded to Gilchrist Construction Company, LLC.
This project was made possible by funding allocated from the Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund (LTIF 2.0) during the 2025 Regular Legislative Session.
