UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 788 over Grand Bayou in Red River Parish
(UPDATE 8/14/2026): DOTD advises motorists that repairs are complete and the LA 788 bridge over Grand Bayou in Red River Parish is back OPEN to traffic.

Previous update - 8/4/2026:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the LA 788 bridge over Grand Bayou just south of the Village of Hall Summit in Red River Parish will be closed.
This full bridge closure is scheduled to remain in place until Friday, August 14th, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform bridge piling repair. This vital maintenance work helps ensure continued connectivity for the communities that utilize this route.
This bridge is located 0.73 miles west of the intersection with US 371 (see included map).
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Appropriate detour signage will be in place. Motorists will be detoured via US 371 and LA 514.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
