The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, August 10, 2026 construction will begin on US 167 in Winn Parish. This work will take place between the start of the 5- Lane section south of Dodson and proceed north to the Jackson parish line.
The intent of this project is to patch, mill, and overlay the southbound travel lanes and shoulders of US 167 with asphalt, and patch the northbound travel lanes with concrete. The work included in this project includes full depth asphalt patching, milling asphalt pavement, laying asphalt, full depth concrete patching, and other related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Gilchrist Construction Co., LLC. of Alexandria, LA in the amount of $9,425,450.31. The work associated with this project should take approximately 160 working days to complete.
Permit/Detour section
Thru traffic will be maintained at all times with oversize and emergency vehicles allowed passage, but periodic lane closures and delays can be expected. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions. There will be no detour routes for this project.
