DOTD to Begin $3.58 Million US 90 Frontage Road Improvements in Iberia Parish

IBERIA PARISH, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that construction will begin Wednesday, August 5, on a $3,580,855.66 roadway improvement project along three sections of the US 90 frontage roads in Iberia Parish.
The project includes the following roadway segments:
- US 90 Frontage Road Loop south of LA 14: From 0.1 miles south of its western junction with LA 14 Eastbound to its eastern junction with LA 14 Eastbound.
- US 90 Eastbound Frontage Road: From Darnall Road to 0.7 miles west of Darnall Road.
- US 90 Westbound Frontage Road: From Darnall Road to 0.7 miles west of Darnall Road.
Work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.
The project includes in-place cement-treated subgrade, stabilized base course, asphalt milling, asphalt overlay, pavement markings, and related roadway improvements.
Construction will be completed in two phases.
Phase 1 will begin on Wednesday, August 5, and will focus on the US 90 Frontage Road Loop south of LA 14. This phase is expected to be completed by September 2026.
During Phase 1, motorists should expect alternating lane closures. The roadway will remain open to traffic; however, oversized loads will be restricted to a maximum width of 12 feet while traveling through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will be permitted through the area but may experience delays.
Phase 2 will include both the eastbound and westbound US 90 frontage roads from Darnall Road to 0.7 miles west of Darnall Road.
Construction is expected to begin in September 2026, with completion anticipated by November 2026, weather permitting.
Lane closures and width restrictions associated with Phase 2 will be announced in a future press release.
The improvements will enhance access for local businesses, industrial facilities, and commercial traffic that rely on these frontage roads, helping to improve mobility, reduce long-term maintenance needs, and support continued economic activity in Iberia Parish.
