DOTD announces project to provide new roadway striping on I-20 in Bossier & Webster Parishes

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a $378,952 project to provide fresh pavement striping and reflectorized markings on a section of I-20 through Bossier and Webster Parishes.

The project stretches along I-20 from the I-220 interchange in Bossier City to just west of the US 371 interchange in Dixie Inn in Webster Parish, including the on and off-ramps at each of the interchanges along the project length.

Work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 9, 2026, and will be restricted to nighttime only to help alleviate traffic congestion and inconvenience to motorists.

Motorists should expect slow-moving operations and intermittent lane closures from approximately 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday nights, weather permitting.

The entire project is estimated to wrap up in mid-late September 2026, noting that striping operations are heavily weather dependent.

Pavement markings are used to convey messages to roadway users, making these types of projects an important investment in the state’s transportation system. These markings indicate to drivers which part of the road to use, provide information about conditions ahead, and illustrate where passing is allowed.

Pavement markings provide continuous information related to roadway alignment, vehicle positioning, and other important driving-related tasks.
