Routes: I-49, US 165B, US 165
Alexandria and Pineville, Rapides Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Monday, July 27, at 7:00 PM, weather permitting, there will be nightly alternating lane closures from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM at the following intersections (One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.):
MLK Dr. (10th St.) and Murray St.
Military Hwy. and College Ave.
Military Hwy. and Donahue Ferry Rd.
US 165 and LA 623 (Paradise Rd.)
These closures are necessary to allow for the installation of new mast arms on the signal pole foundations and related work.
All work is anticipated to be completed at these intersections by July 31, 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
The contract was awarded to Jack B. Harper Electrical, LLC in the amount of $9,040,462.73
Permit/Detour section
There are no detour’s or lane width restrictions associated with this project.

All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
