OPENED - EMERGENCY RAMP CLOSURE: LA 617 (Thomas Road) I-20 WB On-Ramp in West Monroe, Ouachita Parish

UPDATE: LA 617 (Thomas Rd.) I-20 Westbound On-Ramp is OPEN.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 8:30 am the westbound I-20 on-ramp from LA 617 (Thomas Road) will be closed to all traffic.
The emergency closure is necessary for district maintenance crews to repair a blow-up in the concrete pavement.
The closure is expected to last approximately 4-6 hours and should be opened back to travel the same day.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed/ramp’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Restrictions/Permits:
The westbound on-ramp from LA 617 (Thomas Road) to enter I-20 traveling westbound will be closed. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route:
No detour route will be signed for this work.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
