I-55 Frontage Rd. (Old US 51 Low Rd.), Lane Shifts near Peavine Rd – Laplace, LA - St. John Parish- Army Corps of Engineers Floodwall and Gate Work

Both lanes of the I-55 Frontage Rd. (Old US 51 Low Rd.) will be shifted to a bypass road for 0.5 miles near Peavine Rd., beginning at 9AM on Friday, July 24, 2026 through September of 2027, weather permitting, while the Army Corps of Engineer’s construct a Floodwall and Gate. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone.
Permit Information:
Wide loads are restricted to 12 feet.
Detour Information:
Motorists may use I-55 elevated section to avoid the work zone.
