(UPDATE 07/23/2026): LADOTD advises motorists that for the below referenced eastbound and westbound lane closures, beginning on Friday, August 7, 2026, there will be an 11 foot width restriction that will remain in place for approximately 3 weeks.
Vehicles wider than 11 feet will need to utilize an alternate route (over sized loads).
This is necessary to allow for the safe and efficient repair of the below mentioned limits.
All work on the project is anticipated to wrap up in September 2026, weather permitting.
Original notification - 07/20/2026:
A Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) project to repair I-20: Richland-Madison Overlay @ Bridges in Madison & Richland Parishes began July 20, 2026.
The $3,868,167.48 construction contract was awarded to Diamond B Construction Co., L.L.C. The project consists of asphalt concrete overlay, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, fiberglass reinforced paving mat, and related work.
The project completion is projected for October 2026, weather permitting.
LIMITS: Located along Route I-20 at Big Creek Bridge, Little Creek Bridge Turkey Creek Bridge, Delhi Overpass, Bayou Macon Bridge, and Joe’s Bayou Bridge, as shown in the plans.
Lane closures will be permitted one lane at a time only, ensuring that through traffic is maintained at all times.
