Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that LA 379 (Sulphur Ave.) between Sampson Street and Miller Avenue, lanes on LA 378 (Sampson Street) from Sulphur Ave. to the I-10 Service road, and Horseshoe Drive will be alternately closed from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. nightly, beginning Thursday June 25, 2026, through Saturday June 27, 2026.
These closures are necessary to transport the new Phillips 66 Pipe Rack modules from a delivery yard off Miller Avenue to a staging area south of Horseshoe Drive.
Police, contractor vehicles, and flagging personnel will escort the large self-propelled carrier which will be used to transport the pipe rack and then return to the yard off Miller Ave.
Each section of roadway impacted will be reopened to traffic when the carrier has passed through to minimize disruption to motorists. Work will be performed weather permitting.
Safety reminder: DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
