UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 112 north of LA 462, Rapides Parish

(UPDATE 6/18/2026 8:00PM): DOTD advises motorists that repairs on LA 112 in Rapides Parish are complete and the roadway has been reopened.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, LA 112 north of Plainview High School in Rapides Parish is closed until further notice.

This closure is located approximately 2.75 miles north of the intersection with LA 462, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform repairs to a roadway washout that occurred as a result of recent flooding.

DOTD will issue an update when repairs are complete and the roadway has been reopened.

Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
