LANE/RAMP CLOSURES: I-49 southbound at LA 526 (Bert Kouns), Shreveport, Caddo Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the outside (right lane) of I-49 southbound at the LA 526 (Bert Kouns Industrial Loop) interchange will be closed.
The LA 3132 eastbound and westbound ramps to I-49 southbound will also be closed. Additionally, the left lane of the southbound off-ramp to Bert Kouns will be closed. The exit ramp will remain open to traffic (closure of left lane only).
These lane closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for one (1) day, and are necessary to allow DOTD crews to repair a heat-related buckling of the roadway at this location.
Periods of extreme heat can cause pavement to expand, resulting in cracks and buckling at the roadway joint, commonly referred to as a ‘blow up’. DOTD crews remain prepared to address these issues as they arise.
Restrictions/Permits: Total ramp closures at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Motorists traveling on LA 3132 westbound will detour to US 171 (Mansfield Rd). Motorists traveling on LA 3132 eastbound will detour to LA 526 (Bert Kouns).
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
