I-49: LA 6 – NATCHITOCHES P/L Pavement Marking Replacement

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, June 22, 2026 construction will begin on I-49 in Natchitoches Parish. This work will take place in Natchitoches along I-49 from the interchange at LA 6 to the Desoto/Natchitoches parish line. This work will consist of nightly single lane closures from approximately 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
The intent of this project is to add reflectorized raised pavement markers, plastic pavement striping and other related work in the Northbound and Southbound lanes.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Nation Striping Company, LLC, in the amount of $1,330,853.90. The work associated with this project should take approximately 50 working days to complete.
Permit/Detour section
Thru traffic will be maintained at all times with oversize and emergency vehicles allowed passage. There will be no detour routes for this project.
