ROAD CLOSURE: LA 6 BUS at UP railroad crossing, Natchitoches Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, weather permitting, LA 6 Business at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing near Second Street in Natchitoches will be closed.
This closure is scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for one (1) day, and is necessary to allow for UP crews to perform maintenance work on the crossing.
This crossing is located approximately 1 mile east of the intersection with LA 1 (see included map).

Detour signage will be in place.

All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
