LA 3235 Traffic Pattern Change – Golden Meadow Bridge Project – Lafourche Parish

A traffic pattern change associated with the LA 3235 Golden Meadow Bridge project will begin Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11 a.m.
During the traffic swap process, the contractor will temporarily stop southbound traffic at several short intervals so crews can remove existing pavement markings and install new striping on the southbound roadway. Motorists should expect brief delays during this transition.

Southbound Traffic
  • The existing southbound left lane closure will remain in place.
  • Southbound traffic will no longer cross the median as it does under the current configuration.
  • Motorists will continue straight onto the new Golden Meadow-to-Leeville Bridge.
  • Once on the bridge, traffic will be guided by cones through a designated turn approximately 600 feet onto the structure.
  • The temporary turn has been widened to accommodate larger vehicles and commercial traffic, with a turning width of approximately 30 feet.
  • After completing the turn, motorists will exit the bridge and merge back onto LA 3235, continuing south toward LA 1.
  • Southbound traffic will remain in the left lane through the work zone until traffic control devices end and normal roadway conditions resume.

Northbound Traffic
  • The northbound right lane will be closed, with traffic merged into the left lane using cones and traffic control devices.
  • Northbound motorists will remain on LA 3235 and continue in the left lane past Texas Road in Golden Meadow.
  • After passing Texas Road, traffic will be released back into the normal two-lane roadway configuration.
  • No temporary traffic stoppages are anticipated for northbound traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, reduce speeds, and remain alert for construction personnel and changing traffic conditions while traveling through the work zone.

DOTD appreciates the public’s patience as work continues to improve transportation infrastructure in South Lafourche.
