The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, work will begin on the LA 10 Overlay Project on Monday, June 8, 2026 and will continue for approximately three (3) months. This asphaltic concrete overlay project is located on LA 10 from LA 467-1 (near Fort Polk’s South Gate, ACP 5) to Look Out Rd. This 1.662 mile project will receive milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, cross drain replacements, asphalt concrete overlay, and related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Gilchrist Construction Company, LLC in the amount of $2,179,506.66.
Permit/Detour section
The contractor will begin asphalt pavement patching on Monday, June 8, 2026 and the roadway will remain open to all local and through traffic with no restrictions for passenger vehicles and a 11’ wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles. Lane closures will be utilized during construction operations.
