UPDATE: Lafayette Parish - Interstate 49 - Alternating Lane Closures

LAFAYETTE/ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA - Motorists are advised of the next round of alternating lane closures as part of the $43 million resurfacing project.
These closures are necessary to complete milling, saw cutting, and concrete pouring operations and will take place during overnight and weekend hours to minimize traffic disruptions.
Northbound I-49 – Milling and Paving Operations
Alternating lane closures will occur on the I-49 northbound mainline during the following dates and times:
· Thursday, June 4: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
· Saturday, June 6: 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m.
· Sunday, June 7 – 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
· Monday, June 8: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
· Tuesday, June 9: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Southbound I-49 – Milling Operations
Alternating lane and shoulder closures will also be in place for milling operations on the I-49 southbound mainline from Hector Connoly to Gloria Switch during the following dates and times:
·Wednesday, June 10: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
· Thursday, June 11: 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
· Saturday, June 13: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
· Sunday, June 14: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Northbound I-49 – Joint Sealing & Saw Cutting Operations
Alternating lane closures will also be in place for saw cutting operations on the I-49 northbound mainline during the following dates and times:
Thursday, June 4: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Southbound I-49 – Joint Sealing & Saw Cutting Operations
Alternating lane closures will also be in place for saw cutting operations on the I-49 southbound mainline starting during the following dates and times:
Thursday, June 4: 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Saturday, June 6: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Sunday, June 7: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Monday, June 8: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Tuesday, June 9: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Wednesday, June 10 – 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Thursday, June 11: 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Saturday, June 13: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Sunday, June 14: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Ramp Closures
Ramp closures will also be in place for saw cutting and patching operations during the following dates and times:
I-49 Southbound I-10 W to Lake Charles exit ramp (Exit 1B) and US 90/I-49 S ramp (Exit 103A)
Thursday, June 4: 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Saturday, June 6: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Sunday, June 7: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
I-49 Southbound Gloria Switch Exit Ramp (Exit 4) and Gloria Switch On Ramp
Monday, June 8: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Tuesday, June 9: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Wednesday, June 10: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Thursday, June 11: 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Saturday, June 13: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Sunday, June 14: 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
Motorists should expect delays, exercise caution in work zones, and consider alternate routes when possible. Crews will work to complete operations as efficiently and safely as possible.
For the safety of workers and drivers, please reduce speed and remain alert when traveling through construction areas.
