Plaquemines Parish, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that construction is expected to begin by the end of May 2026, weather permitting, on a new roundabout at the intersection of LA 406 and F. Edward Hebert Boulevard in Plaquemines Parish.

The $3.2 million project will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety for motorists traveling through the area. Construction is currently expected to be complete during the second quarter of 2027.

This project is part of the Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund (LTIF) 2.0, a state-funded program that directs $249 million toward highway preservation projects for the 2025-2026 period, following an initial $285 million in LTIF 1.0. The program funds critical maintenance and projects that improve infrastructure safety and reliability across Louisiana.

Additional information regarding traffic impacts, lane closures, and construction schedules will be announced as work progresses.

DOTD appreciates the public’s patience as the department continues working to improve infrastructure and roadway safety throughout Plaquemines Parish.
