UPDATE - ROAD CLOSURE: LA 585 west of Darnell in West Carroll Parish
(UPDATE 6/9/2026): DOTD advises motorists that due to recent inclement weather, the LA 585 road closure west of Darnell in West Carroll Parish has been extended through Friday, June 19, 2026.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience. This work is critical to ensuring adequate and proper drainage through the area.

Original notification - 5/26/2026:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, a section of LA 585 in West Carroll Parish will be closed to thru traffic.
This closure is located approximately 2.1 miles west of its intersection with LA 577, and is necessary to allow for the replacement of a cross drain pipe that is impacting the integrity of the roadway.
The LA 585 road closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks, and should be reopened Friday, June 5, 2026.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Restrictions/Permits:
Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route:
Detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
