Closure: Derek Drive at intersection with LA 14, and McKinley St. at intersection with LA 14 – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that Derek Drive at the intersection of LA 14 and McKinley Street at the intersection of LA 14 will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026.
Detour:
- Vehicles wanting to travel east on Derek Drive from LA 14 should turn into Power Center Pkwy eastbound, then continue left onto Amoco Road northbound.
- Vehicles traveling west on Derek Drive towards Roosevelt Street should turn left onto Amoco Road southbound, then continue westbound onto Power Center Pkwy, turn right onto LA 14 northbound, then turn left onto Coolidge Street WB.
- The South driveway to Walmart will remain accessible to both SB and NB traffic.
The closure is necessary for crews to complete patching at these intersections. Motorists traveling east or westbound at these intersections must turn right onto LA 14. Northbound and southbound traffic will remain open through these intersections.
