UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 155 at RR crossing, Bienville Parish

(UPDATE 5/18/2026): DOTD advises motorists that LA 155 at the railroad crossing south of LA 508 in Bienville Parish has been reopened to traffic.

Original notification - 5/12/2026:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, LA 155 at the railroad crossing south of the intersection with LA 508 in Bienville Parish is closed.

The closure is due to a crash involving a log truck and a train.

This crossing is located approximately 3.3 miles north of the intersection with LA 4 near the Friendship community (see included map).

This closure will remain in place until further notice as clean-up operations begin, which will be conducted by the railroad company and its contractor(s).

Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
