UPDATE - ROAD REOPENED: LA 183 at Railroad Crossing/US 80, Richland Parish

Original Notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that LA 183, at the railroad crossing just south of the intersection with US 80, in Richland Parish will be closed to all vehicular traffic beginning Monday evening, May 18 through May 21.
The purpose of this road closure is for CPKC Railroad to perform crossing repairs and routine maintenance to this rail location.
Restrictions/Permits:
This work requires a complete road closure to all vehicular traffic.
Alternate Route:
A detour route will be signed and provided for the duration of the closure. All vehicles must detour using US 80, LA 609, and Interstate 20.
Safety Reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
