DOTD Announces Emergency Lane Closure on I-49 Southbound in Acadiana

LAFAYETTE/ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists that the southbound right lane of Interstate 49 will be closed from the St. Landry Parish Line to Exit 4 (Carencro).
Due to ongoing resurfacing operations and deteriorating roadway conditions caused by wet weather, the lane closure is necessary to maintain safe travel conditions through the work zone.
The closure will remain in place until asphalt operations can be completed.
Motorists are encouraged to be mindful of the construction zone and be on the lookout for crews and their equipment.
